Welcome to the exam registration page for the European Advertising Certificate. This section contains everything you need to know about the exam.

Timing

You can register for the exam at any time from 3 January until 5th April March 2012. Please make sure that we receive your payment by 5th April 2012.

What to do

Although you have already registered for the learning, you need to register separately and pay the exam fee in order to be able to take the exam:
  1. TO REGISTER AND PAY FOR THE EXAM, CLICK HERE
  2. Please make sure that we receive your payment by 5th April 2012.
  3. You will then receive an e-mail with your personal login details and a unique examination registration confirmation number
  4. Please print off the e-mail confirmation and MAKE SURE you take your examination registration confirmation number and a valid ID document and present these at the exam registration desk on the day of the exam. No registration confirmation number, no exam!!

Where?

The exam will take place in your country. The exam will take place in your country. The exact addresses of the exam location and contact details for questions regarding the local time in each qualifying country can be found here. The exam process will be managed locally by your National Agencies’ Association. If you don’t know who they are, you can check here. They also will inform you of the location and time of the exam.

Exam details

The exam will last for 3 hours. It consists of 10 questions, of which you must answer 5. There are no multiple choice questions. Like the learning, the exam is in English, but we will accept detailed bullet points as answers if your written English is not fluent. The important thing is to demonstrate that you have understood the question and can formulate a comprehensive answer. The answers you gave to the mini-quizzes during the learning stage will contribute 18% of your final score, so the exam is worth 82%. There are 4 scoring levels:

Pass with Distinction 80% plus
Pass with Credit65-79%
Pass50-64%
Fail49% and below

These past questions are typical of what you will face in April:
  1. Explain what is meant by the ‘iceberg’ analogy in terms of understanding client business. In framing your response, clarify why it is important to understand your client’s business.
